AI Search Visibility

When someone asks an AI for a recommendation, does your name come up?

A growing share of buying research now happens inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, where the answer arrives without a list of links to choose from. Being on page one does not put you in that answer. We make your business readable, consistent and specific enough that assistants can name it with confidence.

The search box is no longer the only front door

For twenty years the job was to rank, because ranking earned the click. That has not stopped being true, but it has stopped being the whole picture. When an assistant answers a question directly, the businesses it names are the shortlist, and everyone else is simply absent from the conversation. There is no second page to be on.

No links to lose to

In a traditional result you compete for attention against nine other listings. In an answer you are either mentioned or you are not, and the customer has no idea you existed.

You cannot see it in your analytics

A recommendation inside a chat leaves no referrer. Someone can hear your name from an assistant, search your brand directly, and arrive looking like organic traffic you already had.

The fixes compound

Nearly everything that makes you quotable also makes you rank: readable pages, clean structured data, specific answers, consistent business details. Very little of it is wasted.

How we build AI visibility

In order, because the sequence matters. There is no point writing better answers for a crawler that cannot read the page they sit on.

01

Crawler Access Audit

We request your pages the way GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot do and compare what arrives against what a browser shows. If your content only exists after JavaScript runs, nothing else on this list matters yet.

02

Entity and Schema Foundation

We make the machine-readable layer say exactly what the business is, where it operates and what it offers, then remove the duplicate and contradictory markup that quietly undermines it.

03

Answer-Shaped Content

We restructure key pages to answer real questions outright, with specific numbers, ranges and comparisons. Assistants quote sources that commit to an answer and skip the ones that hedge.

04

Off-Site Consistency

We align your name, address, phone, licensing and service areas across directories, review platforms and your own pages, because disagreement between sources lowers the confidence to cite you at all.

05

Prompt Testing and Monitoring

We run the questions your customers actually ask across the major assistants, record who gets named, and repeat on a schedule so you can see movement rather than guess at it.

What the audit actually looks at

Six things, all of them verifiable. You get the raw findings, not a score out of a hundred that means nothing outside our own spreadsheet.

Raw crawler output

What GPTBot and ClaudeBot receive, byte for byte, versus what your visitors see.

Structured data integrity

Whether your schema is valid, non-duplicated and actually describes the business.

Answer coverage

Which customer questions your site answers outright, and which it leaves vague.

Cross-source consistency

Where your business details disagree between your site, directories and reviews.

Current citation baseline

Who gets named today when a customer asks an assistant for your service in your market.

Competitor comparison

Which competitors are being quoted, and what their pages do that yours does not.

What nobody can sell you

There is no ranking dashboard inside ChatGPT. No submission form, no paid placement, no lever anyone can pull to put you in an answer. Any agency promising you a position inside a model is describing something that does not exist, and you should treat the rest of their claims accordingly.

What does exist is a list of concrete reasons a business gets left out: pages a crawler receives empty, structured data that contradicts itself, content too hedged to quote, and business details that disagree across half a dozen sources. Every one of those is inspectable and fixable, and fixing them is the entire job.

We build with these tools every day, which is why we know where they look and what they choke on. That is also why we run everything AI-assisted with human verification before it ships. Nothing goes live because a model suggested it.

It works alongside the rest of your marketing

AI visibility is a surface, not a strategy on its own. It sits on top of the same foundation that drives your conventional search performance, which is why most of the work pays twice.

Common questions

SEO earns you a position on a page of results that a person then clicks. AI search visibility earns you a mention inside an answer that a person reads instead of clicking anything. The underlying work overlaps heavily, but the mechanics differ: an assistant is deciding whether your business is clear enough, consistent enough and specific enough to quote with confidence. A page can rank well and still never get cited.

Yes. Generative Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization are two names for the same work, and the industry has not settled on one. We call it AI search visibility because it describes the outcome rather than the acronym. If a vendor is selling you GEO, AEO or AI SEO, ask what they actually change on the site, because the label tells you nothing.

No, and anyone who guarantees it is selling you something they cannot control. There is no submission form, no ranking dashboard and no paid placement inside these models. What we can do is remove the reasons you would be excluded: pages crawlers cannot read, contradictory business information, and content too vague to quote. That is the difference between being invisible and being eligible.

We test it directly. We run the questions your customers would actually ask across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, record which businesses get named, and repeat the same prompts over time. That gives you a real baseline instead of a vanity score, and it shows movement as the work lands.

Many modern sites build their content in the browser using JavaScript. Googlebot renders that, mostly. GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot largely do not. So a site can look complete on your screen and arrive at an assistant as an almost empty file. This is the single most common cause of AI invisibility we find, it is invisible from the front end, and it is fixable.

Crawler access problems are the fastest, because once a page is readable it can be picked up on the next crawl. Content and structured data work follows the same curve as SEO, which means months rather than weeks. Consistency cleanup across directories takes as long as the slowest directory takes to update. We sequence it so the fixable-now items go first.

No. For most local service businesses, paid search and the map pack still produce the overwhelming majority of leads, and that is where the budget belongs. AI search visibility is an additional surface, not a replacement. The honest framing is that it is cheap to build correctly now and expensive to retrofit later, and much of the work strengthens conventional SEO at the same time.

For the audit, no. We can assess crawler accessibility, structured data and off-site consistency from the outside. For implementation we need either access to the site or a developer on your side who can apply the changes. We are happy to work either way, and we will tell you plainly which findings need code changes versus which are content or directory work.

Find out what the assistants say about you

We will run your real customer questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, check what crawlers receive from your site, and show you exactly where you stand. No cost, and no obligation to do anything about it.
